Thunder resounds like a distant trumpet.
Trees droop burdened with wet leaves.
Branches limp like weary willows
Lawns a velvet emerald green.
A moment hangs in heavy silence
Then the rain begins to fall,
Suddenly and forcefully like waves
Of audience applause.
